How can an average person engage the living God and obey the Great Commission right where they are — starting right now? Testimonies of thousands of people who have participated in the faith promise prove how exciting it is to do God’s will in God’s way. Not everyone can go to a foreign land as a missionary. What if your church does not do the Faith Promise for Missions? There is nothing to keep a person from having their own private faith promise program. You can do it yourself. Perhaps your testimony of God’s faithfulness you experience will inspire others or your church to give it a try!

The Faith Promise should always start with a time of prayer asking God “what should I, in faith, pledge”. Ask God to give you an amount to pledge, in faith, not knowing for sure how the that amount will come. It might be realized in ordinary ways. It might be realized in a most extraordinary way. That is up to God. All you have to do is recognize that God is providing for your faith pledge and give it to missions.

Some churches set a goal for the total amount to be given by the congregation and when the cards are collected see if the goal is reached. A “thermometer” is set up and goes up as the pledge cards are totaled. It’s very meaningful if a church sets a service aside to hear personal testimonies of how God provided the funds. This is a program of FAITH that God can provide. The promise you make is that IF God provides funds to fulfill your faith promise, you will give those funds to missions.
